The problem with bibs, is that they can only be bibs. We wanted something better. Something that could multitask. Something that could handle gastric reflux. One of our babies was going through at least 20 bibs/day (besides the spit rags)! Which meant that there were never any bibs when needed.
We wanted to create something simple, environmentally responsible, and also to stop wiping down vinyl bibs. We happen to be sisters, and moms, one on each coast, and we'd talk every day about our ideas, improving as we went along.
We ordered samples, until we found the perfect material. We fiddled and fiddled, and discovered that the original design was the best. No matter how we tried to complicate it, simplicity turned out to be the most expedient way of doing the job (lots of things are like that). Our goal is to keep it simple, to build our business around our families (instead of the other way around), and create lives worth living that leave something wonderful behind, as well.
It absolutely needs to be said that my sister's husband deserves a lot of credit, as do our children, and our parents, too. They listened to us yammer on incessantly for months, enduring piles of discussions about "surface area," "tensile strength" and "elasticity." Then, they made their own suggestions. They can talk "density" with the best of 'em. Many of their suggestions are visible in the final cinchi product.
This is truly a business that is all about Family- ours and yours. An astonishing revelation gleaned from years of experience in the cold, hard world of business: Everything is personal.
So we want to introduce you to the members of our team. We'll have the rest of this bowl of mixed nuts up soon!
